Queer Coat of Arms Workshop

Join the Feminist Library’s Artist in Residence, Rachael House, to make your own Queer Coat of Arms this LGBTQIA+ history month.
These will speak of queer lineage, queer networks and our individual strengths and attributes. Historically, coats of arms are inherited in the male line, and the family genealogy has to be known. It is clear how swiftly LGBTQIA+ people may be written out of history in this way… For Queer Coats of Arms this will not be necessary!
Our Queer Coats of Arms will be traditionally shield shaped though, we are often in need of defensive weapons.
