About Residency 11:11

Residency 11:11 is an artist-run and led residency offering domestic and online residencies alongside a public programme of events and workshops. Initiated by artists Giulia Shah and Alexandra Bell in 2018, the residency runs from their flat in London. Residency 11:11 is a queer women run organisation and we prioritise giving opportunities to queer artists and women artists.Residency 11:11 is focussed on opening up nuanced conversations around the accessibility of art, and its importance as a personal, social and political tool. We support art practitioners by opening up our network, offering time and space to research and building nurturing relationships of support and exchange . By creating transnational connections we are interested in diverse practices that question the role of art and how this can differ across borders, histories and economies. Since 2022, our programme has kindly been supported by Arts Council England. Their ongoing support helps us support artists by offering fees, growing relationships with new and existing collaborators and developing  professionally as a valuable arts initiative.
