DRAGGING BUTCH
OCTOBER 31ST – 6.30-8.30
When we realised the October session of Butch Lineages would be on Halloween we all freaked out. We had to have an excuse to dress up. Dressing up, disguise, and performance are important to the queer community. So this Halloween we are thinking about the relationship between Butches and drag kings. Not all drag kings are Butch, not all Butches don drag, so how do these two forms of cross-dressing intersect and inform each other?
We’ll start with some historical context, and then move into our personal experience. Bring sources, examples, stories… and costumes.
