BRING YOUR OWN HISTORY: a closed-door session for butch trans women and TMA butches.
How many Butch trans women do you know? What’s the oldest reference to someone like us you can think of? Where are we in history?
In collaboration with Masonry, the Transfeminist Consciousness Raising Circle, this session is all about looking for Butch trans womanhood in the past, and thinking about how we are contextualised in the present. At Masonry, only trans women and other TMA people (transmisogyny-affected) attend, which gives space for focused and uninhibited conversation on trans womens issues. Your relationship to Butchness may be active, tentative, transient, or just a curiosity — all trans women and TMA nonbinary people with something to get from this question are encouraged to attend. Being on E is not a requirement.
If you are TME (cis or someone who was assigned female at birth), please hang back this time. The boys* will be gathering sources to share later in the year.
