We really value our community of volunteers who contribute to cataloguing, organising, and collecting resources for the Library. We teach cataloguing to anyone interested – most of our volunteers don’t have previous Library or Archive experience – and emphasise collaborative and feminist principles throughout these sessions. We believe library and information work is often inaccessible to those without typical or formal education backgrounds, is overwhelming done by white, straight and cis-gendered people who have been able to gain formal qualifications, and want to counter this in our collaborative collections work.
Litwin Books/Library Juice Press recently donated some incredible titles to the collection to support our work in these areas. They have been catalogued and will be added to shelves soon. We’re so grateful for this generous donation all the way from California – thank you Litwin Books!
