We keep hearing it is. But then we look at fascist lesbians like Rotha Lintorn-Orman or Radclyffe Hall, and Angela Calmonris (last slide) brought down the American communist party as an FBI spy. So what’s going on there?
We’re going to read together “butch anarchy” by American organiser Lee Shevek, and discuss Lee’s ideas. Then we’ll think about how dyke politics is mediated by race and class, if there even is a cohesive dyke politics, and the failures of white and middle-class lesbian organising in the past and today.

The Feminist Library is fully wheelchair accessible and groundfloor, but the door is manually operated. Buzz and someone will open up for you. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom and all bathrooms are gender neutral. We have a little kitchen, feel free to heat up some food and make yourself a drink. We have a breakout space you’re welcome to make use of at any time during the session.
