Open Call for Artworks

c78d80ca72a197baa7f50d214d261db6As part of this year’s programming, the Feminist Library would like to invite all feminist creatives to submit ideas for art projects that reflect on feminist print-culture and the intersection of gender and discourses of resistance in feminist alternative and independent presses. Participants are invited to visit the Library’s extensive periodicals and books collections through March, and imagine artworks that directly engage with the Feminist Library archive, as a whole or in its elements.

Proposals should include the provisional title of the piece, a brief description (up to 250 words) and a short biographical statement.

Please submit your proposal to magda@feministlibrary.co.uk by Monday 15 April 2018.

While the call is open to all, we strongly encourage women-identifying and non-binary people to submit.

The Feminist Library, as a volunteer-run space, highly values participation and all submitted projects will be automatically selected to be shown in an exhibition to be held in late spring at the Library. Individuals and groups working in all media are welcome to apply. Artists working in new media, film, or video may be required to use their own equipment for the exhibition.
Please note that due to the voluntary nature of our organisation, this work is not budgeted for and all work submitted to the project would be on voluntary basis.
